The Grants Manager is responsible for overseeing the grants from application to budgeting, invoicing, reporting for A Just Harvest. This role primarily involves managing grant budgeting, billing, and reporting, coordinating the grant application process, and researching funding opportunities. The Grants Manager will work closely with the Executive Director and program managers to ensure the organization’s financial sustainability and successful implementation of projects. This is a key position that requires strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

Grant Management and Reporting:

  • Develop and implement a system to track and manage grant-funded projects, ensuring compliance with grant objectives and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate progress reports, financial reports, and other documentation as required by funders.
  • Collaborate with program managers to gather data and information for reporting purposes.
  • Maintain organized records of grant activities, including documentation of all communications and key milestones.

Billing, Budgeting and Financial Oversight:

  • Monitor grant expenditures, create grant invoices, track budget variances, and provide regular updates to the executive director.
  • Work closely with the finance team to develop accurate grant budgets and ensure compliance with financial guidelines and reporting requirements.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Stay informed about legal and regulatory requirements related to grant funding, ensuring the organization’s compliance.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date grant files, including all necessary documentation, correspondence, and reports.

Grant Proposal Development:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Dire program managers and staff to develop compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate the organization’s mission, goals, and programs.
  • Prepare and submit grant applications within specified deadlines, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
  • Review and edit proposals for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to funder guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in grant management and billing within the nonprofit sector.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple grants and deadlines concurrently.
  • Proficient in using grant management software, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and financial reporting for grant-funded projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with funders and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.

Compensation

  • Salary is $55,000 – $60,000 commensurate with experience
